La Faute sur Mer

Located on the Atlantic Ocean, between les Sables d’Olonne and La Rochelle, opposite the île de Ré, la Faute-sur-Mer is a sandy peninsular that stretches out over 694 hectares, of which 550 hectares are forest land

Its particularly temperate, warm weather is the consequence of the micro-climate that the area enjoys giving it 2,250 hours of sunshine a year, which is similar to that of the Riviera.

Boasting over 10 km of soft golden sand, no-one will miss out on the delights of the sea on this exceptionally long beach.

Families really appreciate this beach for the absence of pebbles, the beach's low gradient and the security provided by the life guards at their emergency stations.

There is a channel giving watersports enthusiasts safe access for getting out to sea to sail dinghies, catamarans and go kayaking.
At low tide, those who love their sand yachting can take on the pleasures and challenges of the changing winds
